Privacy Policy

This page explains what information PassForge does and does not collect, how cookies are used, and how third-party services we rely on handle your data.

Data we collect from the tool

The PassForge password and passphrase generator runs entirely in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • The passwords or passphrases you generate.
  • The options you select (length, character types, separator, etc.).
  • Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier — except when you voluntarily contact us via the form on the Contact page, in which case we only see what you choose to send.

Generation happens locally using your browser's built-in crypto.getRandomValues() API. No request is made to our servers when you generate a value.

Cookies and local storage

We use a single piece of localStorage to remember your cookie consent choice (Accept or Decline) so the consent banner does not reappear on every page load. This value is stored on your device only and is never transmitted to us.

Beyond this, PassForge itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services described below may set cookies in your browser.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This allows them to show personalized ads that may be more relevant to you.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

For more information on how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

Google Analytics

If Google Analytics is enabled on this site, it may use cookies to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the site — such as which pages are viewed and approximate location. This information helps us understand site usage and improve the experience. Google Analytics does not receive your generated passwords or any input you make in the generator.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Third-party links

This site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. When you follow a link to an external site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

Children's privacy

PassForge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date below. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
